According to Pew Research, the percentage of millenials who use social media has grown by 88% from 2006 to 2018. Pew Research data has also shown millenials are now as large of a political force as Baby Boomers, both covering about 31 percent of overall electorate. As we are in Midterms season (more specifically early voting), I decided it would be fitting to research political engagement on social media from voters, as my partner researches how politicians communicate with these said voters. A large portion of this data stems from the Pew Research Center. In our day and age, Social Media has turned into a key venue for political debate and discussion.
